Event info

PLEASE NOTE 1: Because of the nature of hunting for cheap flights, the plane does leave sadly the day before the end of term. Therefore, you may have to miss timetabled material in order to attend this trip (who works on the last day anyway?). This may not be a massive concern to all of you (freshers...), but don't say we didn't warn you now...

PLEASE NOTE 2: By signing up to this event you are committing to paying the full £350 to attend. Unless prior arrangements have been made with me (Pete Hamlin), if you haven't paid for the trip within 2 weeks of signing up, you will be removed from the signup, and your place offered to someone else.

On a brighter note, it comes to that time of year again where SUMC packs its bags and sets off to go climbing somewhere nice during the cold winter months. This year, we're jetting off to Malta for 10 days of sunny sea cliff climbing and shenanigans. We will be staying in a house in Mellieha (north of the island) for those interested, and should be a fantastic trip in a great location all things accounted for. So don't miss out on SUMC's first trip to not Spain, it's going to be a blast!

Cost for the trip is at £350, which includes all the following:

  • Flights to and from Gatwick airport (including 23kg hold luggage each)
  • 11 nights in country
  • Food and accomodation
  • Ferry trip to neighbouring island of Gozo for more awesome climbing
  • An unmissable experience with amazing people!

Payments for the trip, if you could use electromagic payment (direct debit) to the following account, that would be awesome:

If you need to sort an alternative method of payment, get in touch with me, I'm sure we can sort something.

The trip has 30 spaces open, available through 2 seperate sign-ups. This is the first sign-up for 20 spaces, aimed mainly at returning members of the club/slightly more experienced climbers (though if you're new and your heart is already set on coming, don't be put off signing up in this one!).

If you're slightly unsure about putting so much money down straight away, don't worry, the second sign-up for the remaining 10 places will be going out mid November, with a priority given to new members of the club to sign up. This gives you all a chance to settle into the club and decide whether you want to get involved! (If these 10 spaces are not filled within a few days, they will be released to the rest of the club)

Any questions, don't hesitate to get in contact, either by e-mail, facebook or just grabbing me in person, and hope to see all your lovely faces come December!!
