What a Weekend!

Wow, what a weekend!

I'm so unbelievably proud of this club right now. I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who came down over the weekend to help, you guys made this weekend more of a success than I could have imagined!

Firstly Big Climb. You think you've set people a challenge, and then they blow it out of the water! THREE times the height of Everest in 24 hours, 26,544 m of ascent, 3360 times up the wall. I was amazed at the amount of psyche and committment on display, I had no idea so many would turn up and keep the unbelievable pace up all through the night. It was such a fun night, hopefully once the aches and pains have disappeared we'll remember how awesome it was!

We're still counting up the money we raised, we need to get RAG to count up the amount in the buckets and for all the sponsorship to come in. There's still time to donate, so if your friends were impressed by your feats over the weekend, get them to chuck a few quid in the pot!

Secondly, the taster sessions. We ran out of forms twice over the weekend, nearly 400 people came and had a go and you guys did so well telling everyone just how awesome SUMC is. We really couldn't have asked for a better advert for the club or the sport in general. Hopefully we'll see a new generation of strong, psyched climbers coming through as a result, so thanks for all your efforts!

This weekend has shown spectacularly what makes this club special, why I and so many others love it and why people keep coming back year after year. I'm now more excited than ever for the rest of this year, and I hope you all are too. See you all Wednesday for the social!

Love you guys :)
